Living in a "blue" house doesn't prevent us from thinking "green".
We are trying to act "green" as often as possible. We are conscious that we share this place with many other living creatures and we want them to feel well. As a "Birds Protection League" refuge, we feed the birds; a lot of them visit our mangers during the cold season. Our walnut tree provides some supplies to the neighbour squirrels. In the garden, we have installed a "hotel for insects".
We have also building a vegetalized pond to welcome numerous animal and plants species of course. We use neither pesticides nor fertilizers but a compost resulting in particular from our dry toilets which you can discover and use. The water we drink is filtered and contains no chlorine and no unwanted residue. Bed sheets and towels are washed with a ecological and biodegradable washing powder. We make some of our cleaning products and those we buy are totaly biodegradable. And almost, since the 26th of september 2006, our water is warmed by sun.
